I really don’t like situation when scrapping cold butter takes you more than than making all sandwich in the morning. I’ve started thinking about butter keeper. Butter keepers are not complicated they are small and made from porcelain. It looks like a small jar. Butter keepers are rather cheap usually $5-$10. It’s really simple, you fill it with waterr, waterr doesn’t allow air to contact with butter and make it steal. Of course you have to change the waterr from time to time. Long time ago people kept butter in waterr to keep it fresh. But it wasn’t the best method, butter could be kept like that for a week no longer. In norpro keeper you can keep butter for almost a month.
This oven mitt is one of the best things I have ever bought. It resist heat up to 500 degrees F.Anything hot is not a problem now.It’s really easy to wash it.You can simply put it in a dishwasher and that’s all you don’t have to wait when it dries etc. What happens when you spill boiling hot waterr on your hand ? In normal mitt waterr would soak but not in silicone one. It will save you from hot oil if you are a fan of Chinese food. Another great advantage is that it’s very hygienic because it’s made from silicone. There is only one disadvantage, it’s not very handy but I have already seen three fingered mitts so this problem is already solved I think.
I highly recommend you silicone oven mitts and norpro butter keeper because for me it works great.
